Man, I missed my car.
Let’s be honest, I’m using the word “final” here very loosely.
- U.S. Customs is more often than not a pain in my ass. Is it really that bad that I have a million stamps from El Salvador?
Agent: Why were you in El Salvador?
Steph: I was visiting my parents.
Agent: Where were you born?
Steph: Doesn’t it say that on my passport?
Agent: Where in California?
Steph: Once again, all this information is on my passport.
Agent: Where did you grow up?
Steph: El Salvador.
Agent: No, where did you go to high school?
Steph: Why would I tell you I grew up somewhere if I didn’t go to high school there?
Agent: Have you ever lived in the United States?
Steph: Didn’t you read my customs form?
Agent: Welcome home.
- It didn’t get “bright” this morning till around 8 am.
- By “bright” I mean a filtered lightness.
- It was already pitch black out by 5:05 pm.
- My hair feels gross because of my sister’s crappy straight-hair conditioner.
- I need to actually plan things out and not leave them till the very last minute.
Ah, that felt good.
How am I related to this girly-girl from the Valley? Jesus, I can only take so much time with such a superficial, rude teenager who likes to twirl around in flowery dresses with 5-inch heels.
Good God, she just put on another dress.
…and I’m ready to go home. Despite being in the comfort of the home I grew up in, along with its luxuries, it’s quite sad how it no longer feels like my home. I miss my luxuries—my comfortable pillows, my amazing sheets, Hulu/Netflix, driving my own car. The second I return, I’ll be wishing I was back in the tropics, but for now, I can’t wait to be back in LA.
After an unbelievable season, my fantasy team has (most likely) lost in the championship game. Truly heartbreaking. And on top of that, my Chargers have proven they are a worthless team to root for and are no longer in playoff contention. I guess there’s always next year.
Now off to get ready and drink my sorrows away.
I was a platinum blonde for a whole day. Now it’s back to my dark golden tones.
It’s been an interesting 7+ years, to say the least. You will not be missed.
