Tony Gilroy Responds To Matt Damon's 'Ultimatum'... →
The first paragraph references how much footage The Amazing Spider-Man has released and how little we yet know of The Bourne Legacy. I am a firm believer that the more footage released during marketing, the worse the movie is (see: Battleship). So the fact that Bourne is keeping shit under wraps makes me hopeful.

Apparently sometimes TACA upgrades you to first class if you ask nicely. I must mentally prepare myself to not be a bitch, bat my eyelashes, and show some cleavage so that this might work. Let’s also pray to the gods that there’s a dude working at the counter.

After four years, I finally figured out how to print to PDF on my laptop. My computer seems to also know that the last (and only) printer I used is in El Salvador. If it’s so smart, then why does it still give me the option to print to that stupid printer?

L.A. traffic
The last two days it’s taken me 30 minutes or less to get to work in the mornings. Though I’ve departed at wildly different times both mornings, I’ve still managed to get to the office much earlier than I’d anticipated. Conversely, it’s been taking me forever to get home. Last night it took me over an hour. And even though I left an hour later than normal today, it...

At what speeds do the spells cast by wizards travel? The spells must travel lower than the speed of sound in that medium, since characters have always been described as ‘hearing’ the spell cast at them beforeit hit them. - Antariksh Bothale

Producer Of Unwanted 'Starship Troopers' Remake... →
Every single time I’ve seen this movie, I’ve enjoyed it. From when I saw it in the theater way back when—I actually can’t believe I saw this in theater and without my parents—till a few months ago when it was on TV. And why would they make this less violent and less of a parody? Silly.

Things I've been hearing a lot lately
“Oh my god, you scared me!” I’m neither invisible nor silent. And neither is the TV. It shouldn’t be a “surprise” to see me in the common area since it is, in fact, common. “Are you parked behind me?” I’m always parked behind you. We don’t all work 6-hour days.

On my way home yesterday, a 10 to 12 year old boy winked at me. I found it both confusing and amusing. That was a bold move for a pre-teen.

'Girls'
Weeks later, I finally saw the last two episodes of the season. The last two episodes were great, really adding depth to the girls’ relationships. Though I enjoy the show a lot, and appreciate its clever sense of humor, I really hate Hannah. She is the most unlikeable character I have come across in years. I’ll admit that I’m a pretty selfish person, but Hannah’s levels are...

'Snow White and the Hunstman'
Not as bad as I thought it’d be. The score was amazing—probably my next purchase—and Hemsworth made the trip well worth it. Though Stewart wasn’t as annoying as I thought she’d be, her accent was atrocious and she wasn’t even remotely convincing in some of the most important scenes. And though the marketing portrayed this as a dark tale, it had some very light-hearted,...

Penalty kicks are always nerve wracking, no matter how little I have invested with both teams. I also now really like Buffon. Not because of the save, but because of his rapport with the English players. I still can’t root for Italy, though.

It is 8:15 am
Finally, there’s no music. No bongos. No girl panting. No giant stomping around. I will be having an interesting little chat with Asshole Neighbor this afternoon. Or maybe in an hour. So he, too, experiences the disturbing feeling of being woken up.

It is 6:30 am on a Sunday
I’ve been up since roughly 4:30 am, courtesy of my lovely neighbor. I heard a woman upstairs as well, so I knew I was going to be in for a loud couple of hours. But instead, this asshole starts playing these brand new bongos—brand new because I’ve never heard them before—really fucking loudly. And no matter how many times I tell him to please close his window, since that would solve...

The promenade was noisier than normal today. Some dude was preaching all afternoon, children were laughing/crying (my favorite sound ever), and dogs were barking left and right.

I get that by rooting for one team over another, it becomes harder to objectively judge a game’s officiating. But by god did it seem like the officiating for the past two games was very much one-sided.

'Safety Not Guaranteed'
Given the crappy selection of movies currently available in theater (besides the two I’ve already seen), I opted to watch Safety Not Guaranteed, which seemed like a promising choice given earlier reviews. It was definitely worth the money. The story was great, with plenty of quirks to go around. The story jumps right into the action, introducing the curious ad seeking a time-traveling...

Colin Farrell Joins 'Saving Mr. Banks' With Tom... →
I really want to see Farrell in more In Bruges-like movies. Not sure if this will do it, but at least it isn’t S.W.A.T. or Phone Booth. (This is apparently old news.)
