For the longest time, I’ve been intrigued by movie scores, and I’ve spent way too much money on them. I just realized Titanic was my very first score—though I bought the CD mostly because of the Celine Dion song, like every other girl in the world.

I love how people get terribly offended when I honk at them for reacting slowly to a green light. What’s even better is when this person pulls up next to me at the next stoplight and tries to have an angry conversation. In what world would I actually partake in that? Especially after the motorcycle incidents.

I spent the entire day Friday listening to the movie’s score on repeat—who can say no to Hans?—so I was pumped to go watch the movie today. The score was definitely one of the highlights of the movie. But besides that and Henry Cavill’s amazingly perfect face, body, and voice, the movie was pretty weak. The story had a ton of holes, the handheld camera was annoying, and the action sequences were too riddled with special effects (or they were just shot too up close). And on top of that, the movie was eternal. At least there were several shirtless scenes.

Given the whole extravaganza the high school graduation is back home—which involves an evening gala with tuxedos and full-length gowns—the graduates usually have a family portrait taken by a professional photographer. My sister emailed me these “professional” pictures today and they are quite atrocious. They looked like a 5-year-old photoshopped them. My sister’s cleavage is actually blurry, my face looks like that of a barbie doll, and no one has any freckles in sight. (My hair does look fantastic, though.) I told her to ask for the originals. Let’s keep the imperfections.

A couple of weeks ago I went to the bank to get a new credit card that charges no foreign transaction fees (they add up quickly). Given that I went to El Salvador last week, I asked that they expedite the delivery of the card. As expected, no card was delivered, so I had to take cash out for the trip. While I was out, the bank FedEx-ed my card. They also, however, sent the card via regular mail, which was received today. So now I have two versions of the same card: same number, same expiration date, same CVV code. Either I’m missing something or the bank is just plain stupid.
